Aussie Kids-Kids Winter Golf Classes in AtlantaAll children desire to be a part of a group, and self-esteem is vital to their success at all stages of their lives. If you are looking for a fun way to help your child build confidence, get in shape and meet new friends, you have come to the right place. Our team is proud to host the kids winter golf classes at Aussie Kids Golfing Academy for the chilly season, and we hope to see your child when we get started!

We gladly welcome children ages 4 to 17, and classes begin Monday, Nov. 27, and run until March 3, 2018. If you are curious about the benefits your child can gain from joining us, the following information will point you in the right direction so that you can make your decision with peace of mind.

Build Confidence with Golf

Rather than coming naturally, confidence is something that children must work to achieve, and we can help. Here at Aussie Kids Golf Academy, we teach children of all skill levels, and those who remain dedicated to the process will enhance their skills as time passes. When children can see the improvements in their abilities, they will know that they can also gain skills in other areas. They will understand that they can do almost anything to which they set their minds when they are willing to practice and put in the effort. The confidence boost that children gain from this process will empower them to chase their dreams.
Since we know it is tough to practice sports in the winter time, we set up a winter session for our little golfers that will help understand that they can do almost anything to which they set their minds when they are willing to practice and put in the effort. We don’t let the cold winter stop our Academy! The confidence boost that children gain from this process will empower them to chase their dreams all year round.

Golf Builds Social Skills

Whether it comes to going to college, getting a job, forming friendships or something else, social skills are a critical piece of the puzzle and will impact your child’s quality of life. Children who attend the Aussie Kids Golf Academy will spend time with their peers in an environment that promotes cooperation.

Our golf school facilitates the growth and interaction with others in a positive way and to form meaningful friendships that can last a lifetime. Meeting people from a range of backgrounds and walks of life will empower children to thrive in almost any social setting they encounter. When children are enrolled in a sport while they are developing their social skills at an early age, they will be armed with the needed tools to connect with others on a meaningful level. Additionally, golfing can teach them competitive skills, collaboration skills, and the ability to work in a team or individually.

Learn to Set Goals

Goal setting and achievement is a critical skill that you can’t afford to overlook.  Our coaches are trained and experienced in working with children of all skill levels and learning styles, they will always push students slightly beyond their comfort zones, empowering them to enhance their abilities. It is important for us at the Aussie Kids Golf Academy to show our kids that even though things may be tough to follow through with, it is always important to set short- and long-term goals. We teach our students to break their goals into small chunks that are easy to reach, and each milestone will serve to enhance their motivation. We know it’s not as fun or easy to participate in sports during the colder and crummy weather season, but we make it a point to keep our Aussie Kids active!

Enhance Focus

The ability to maintain focus is critical for anyone who wants to achieve sustainable levels of success, and learning to play golf is an incredible way for children to work on their focus. Mastering the sport requires students to pay attention to the lesson plan, but they will also need to focus on their grip, the location of the ball, the environment and more. Like a muscle, the ability to focus can be strengthened with practice, and we will guide them at each step.

Enrollment in Aussie Kids Winter Classes

Enrolling your children in the Aussie Kids Golfing Academy will give them the tools and skills that they need to overcome life’s many challenges. Not only will they build confidence and self-esteem, but they will also create memories. Allow your kids to learn the important skills in their life while having fun in the winter time!

How Old Is Old Enough To Start Your Kids Golfing?

Aussie Kids-How old is old enough to start your kids golfing
Getting your child interested in golf can realistically happen at any age. So, how old is old enough to start your kids golfing? There is no “correct” answer to this question, but most experts agree that the best time to begin is when your child shows curiosity about playing.
If golf is not already a sport that your family plays, you can always use golf simulator games to introduce the idea of the sport to them in order to see if there is an interest. The most important thing to remember is that your approach should initially be hands-off, meaning that you expose your child to the game and let the excitement come organically.

Let Aussie Kids Golf Academy Make Golf Fun For Your Child

At Aussie Kids Golf Academy, there is a variety of group and private sessions to choose from. We also offer camps and special programs for children of all ages. Contact us at one of our two locations today to schedule a tour or have your questions answered by one of our friendly staff members. Let’s start together!

What Age Range is Appropriate to Introduce Golf?

While most of us have seen the video clips of a toddler Tiger Woods on the green, it is not necessarily realistic to expect your own toddler to have that kind of coordination or patience. Remember, children are still experiencing leaps and bounds in their physical and mental development in their toddler years, so it is not unusual for them to have short attention spans or uncoordinated movements.

Of course, you know your child’s development better than anyone else, so if you feel like your child is ready to start swinging a club at age two or three then there is no harm in that. In fact, Aussie Kids Golf Academy even offers group lessons for children as young as three years old.

Getting Your Child Interested in Golf

If you or someone in your family plays golf, you can take your child to a driving range or tag along during a short game to foster excitement about the sport. If you’re an enthusiast who doesn’t play, consider taking your child to a golf tournament and see if that sparks an interest.

Another way to gauge your child’s interest in golf is to schedule a private lesson or two and let the instructor give you some insight about what the best plan of action will be. Some children will take to the instruction right away, but others may not be ready for structured lessons just yet.

Benefits of Formal Instruction

Again, this may be different for each child, but in general, once kids are old enough to start school or daycare, they are old enough to begin formal lessons. By this time, they typically have the appropriate level of focus and cognition that is necessary to benefit from golf lessons.

Giving children an opportunity to take golf lessons will do much more than simply hone their skills in the sport. Golf is a game that requires precision, discipline, and critical thinking, so all of these skills will also be developed as your child grows and becomes better in the sport.

In addition, golf can lay the foundation for positive character development and help your child acquire the skills necessary to succeed in other sports and non-athletic pursuits. To instill a love of overcoming challenges while your child is young will set the foundation for mental models that will be useful later in life.

As a parent, it is important for you to be encouraging and allow your child to have fun with golf. Once a sport no longer is fun, the child often loses interest and misses out on all of the benefits. We at Aussie Kids Golf Academy strive to make golfing fun, interesting and stimulating all year round for our kids.

Youth on Course Offers a Unique Golfing Experience

youth on course atlantaYouth on Course is a unique golf centered program aimed at helping children between the ages of 6 and 18 years to have access to affordable golf courses in a wide variety of locations across the United States. Youth on Course was created because of the belief that the game of golf can impart vital life skills to kids of all ages, and that no child should be prevented from being able to play golf simply due to a lack of affordability. This program is a great supplement to your kids’ camps and after school programs at Aussie Kids because it provides them an opportunity to continue to practice and refine their learned skills.

The Background of Youth on Course

Youth on Course started in the state of California in 2006 and was a byproduct of the Northern California Golf Association. It simply began as a way to increase the accessibility of this game to children of all socioeconomic backgrounds and ages, as well as to provide life changing opportunities for scholarship programs, paid internships and many more similar types of things that can set kids up for a successful career.

Since 2006, the Youth on Course program has exploded due to its popularity at providing the skills the game of golf offers at the price of only $5 or less in most of their locations. There was such a warm reception and an increased demand for the program that it spread from the state of California to many other locations across the United States. Youth on Course programs now exist in 12 regions and they have provided more than 400,000 rounds of golf to children across the US, as well as awarded a whopping $250,000 in scholarship funds to deserving youths every year. Youth on Course in Atlanta is just one of dozens of locations offering this exciting privilege to area children everywhere, providing the opportunities to learn life enhancing skills.

Youth on Course and The First Tee

The First Tee is a program that introduces children to the game of golf and provides them with the life skills they learn by interacting with others on the course as they learn to play the game. These two programs work together to provide additional benefits aside from the amazing opportunity to play golf on over 330 golf courses across the US at a cost of just $5 of less.

Youth On Course in Atlanta can provide your child with the unique opportunity to play golf on some of the finest golf courses throughout the state of Georgia at an affordable rate of just $5 or less. The skills that are learned through this unique program can provide lifelong benefits to your child.

Golf provides the opportunity to form lasting and unique relationships with other players and professionals, as well the training and mindset to overcome adversity and grow through challenges. The following are some of the other types of benefits that playing golf can provide:

* Golf Teaches Maturity

Bad plays occur on the golf course, and it can take a great deal of determination to bounce back from them. Additionally, young people aren’t necessarily equipped with the best self control or maturity levels, but with practice and learning to deal with set backs experienced while playing golf, they can become more mature in the way they respond to these events.

* Golf Increases Patience

Unlike some other sports, golf is not a fast paced game. Much like maturity, patience is something that is learned and the experiences that golf offers can do much to support this learning process. You can’t rush or force a great shot, and standing by and patiently lining up a good shot or waiting for another player to take their turn is a great learning experience for children.

* Golf Teaches Acceptance

Accepting the consequences of our actions is something we all have to learn, young and old. When a child makes a poor play on the golf course, he learns through trial and error to accept and learn from that play. In concert with this, when he makes an amazing play, he experiences the joy that comes along with it.

* Golf Provides a Unique Perspective

No matter what a child decides to do in life, there will always be people out there that are better than he is. On the flip side of that, he will also always be better than some other people at those same skills. Life isn’t about constantly comparing ourselves to others but is more about being the best that we can be in the things that matter most to us. Golf can help increase these unique perspectives about focusing on becoming the most authentic versions of ourselves with the realization that players of all skill levels exist.

The game of golf is well loved and respected for many reasons. Children and adults alike have loved the game of golf for decades, and it provides the development of many lifelong skills that can serve a person well in many aspects of their life.

Join Youth on Course today and start playing golf for as low as $5 dollars!

Why Children Should Attend After-School Sports Programs

Aussie Kids Golf Atlanta The After School Program for Kids

After-school programs provide children and families with a range of benefits. Children can better their academics, learn about responsibility, and have fun with their peers. Children who join after school programs learn how to work as a team, which will reward them for years to come. After school programs help children with their social skills, stress, and negative emotions.

Improving Social Skills

After-school sports programs help children to work together towards their goals. Children may not see the benefit of working with others at first, but it won’t take them long to start believing once they see positive results. They will not only learn how to work with their teammates but with their coaches and instructors as well.

Time-Management Skills

Effective time-management skills are a vital part of living a healthy life. Going to school, participating in their after-school programs and getting homework done on time is a lot to manage for a child, but with help from dedicated teachers and volunteers, your child will be on track in no time.

Self-Esteem

Even though self-esteem is a critical piece of the puzzle, not everyone understands it or how to build it. Setting and achieving goals is a powerful tactic for anyone who wants to take their self-esteem to the next level. When children see that they can achieve things they set their mind to, they will feel comfortable with taking on even bigger challenges. Many children enter after-school programs feeling unsure of themselves, but once they have engaged in their programs, they will walk away feeling more confident and positive.

Putting Everything Together

Golf is a respectful game that encourages its participants to use good manners, demonstrate patience, and work as a team. When taking a look at the whole picture, it’s easy to see the advantages that children gain from using after-school sports programs. The time-management skills they learn will help them maintain other responsibilities in their lives. Positive self-esteem and social skills will allow them to form meaningful relationships, as well as encourage the children to speak their minds and believe in themselves. It’s important, however, not to force children into engaging in activities they do not enjoy. For the best possible results, parents, sports coaches, and teachers should encourage children to move forward on their own. The children will gain much more from the process knowing they did this on their own. The lessons learned in these programs are just as important as anything that you can find in a book and should be a part of each child’s education. After school programs do not only provide benefits for children seeking to improve in sports or education but provide children with long-lasting benefits they can take with them for life.

How to Prepare Your Junior Golfer for a Tournament?

How to Prepare Your Junior Golfer for a Tournament?Parents! You know your kid more than anyone else, and how the pressure of competing in a tournament might affect their emotions and, ultimately, their game. As golfers, we’ve all felt the jitters of getting on a course for competition. But with a kid, it takes even more diligence to ensure they’re physically and mentally ready.

First and foremost, it’s important to remind your junior golfer that the game is all about having fun out there on the fairways and greens. Once you can reassure them that the results don’t matter as much as how much they enjoy playing golf, you’ll put their mind at ease and then you can focus on preparing them for the tournament.

While registering your junior golfer for a tournament sounds easy, it takes the proper equipment and a lot of practice and preparation to ensure you both are ready for the big day. With that said, here are five simple tips by Aussie Kids Atlanta to help ensure your junior golfer’s first tournament is as memorable for them as it is for you.

Practice Makes Perfect: Prepare Before You Register

To make sure your junior golfer is ready for a tournament, it takes hours of instruction and years of practice. Otherwise, walking onto the course could spell disaster as far as their confidence. When registering for a tournament, talk with your kid and ask them how they feel about competing at the next level. Study their game during practice and analyze how it has evolved. If they’re comfortable enough to enter and you feel like they’re ready, then it’s time to start the real preparation.

Study Like It’s a Math Test: Get to Know the Course Beforehand

If it’s possible to visit the tournament’s course a week or two prior, spend time with your junior golfer walking and assessing it – or even better, play a practice round. Take notes about important game-day factors like terrain, bunker locations and other hazards that could impede their game. Check for a map of the course online, and use it at the practice range before tournament time to set a solid strategy. Every piece of information and detail you can find out about the course can come in handy.

Rest to be Your Best: Sleep will Help with Focus and Fatigue

According to the National Sleep Foundation, a teenage need at least eight of sleep for optimal health. This is especially true when they’re physically and mentally preparing for a challenge like a golf tournament. While those jitters might get in the way of a full night’s rest, take every step you can to ensure your junior golfer gets enough sleep so they can focus on tournament day and not become fatigued. Darken their room, have them take a hot shower and get them to bed as early as possible.

Stay Out of the Water: But Don’t Forget to Drink It!

Staying hydrated is as important as anything else when preparing for a golf tournament – before, during and after it. Teenagers, both boys and girls, should drink between 1.5 and 2 liters of water per day. If it’s an especially sunny and hot day, it doesn’t hurt the drink even more. Remember to also provide them with fluids that contain electrolytes, like Gatorade.

Visualize Victory: Mental Toughness is the Key to a Good Tournament

There are many ways golfers can become distracted on tournament day, whether it’s their own thoughts or something externally. Teach your junior golfer to clear their minds and think about completing the course successfully – and even holding the trophy. Before bed every night until tournament time, have your junior golf spend five quiet minutes picturing them swinging seamlessly and having fun.

Training is a major part of preparation. At Aussie Kids Atlanta, we know what it takes to prepare junior golfers for a successful lifetime of golfing, whether it’s on a part-time or professional level. Contact us today for more information about our programs.

Aussie Kids Golf In Atlanta: The After School Program for Kids They Will Love

Aussie Kids Golf Atlanta The After School Program for KidsWhen you are looking for a great after school program for kids, there are a lot of choices out there so it’s important to think about what you want out of the program.  Most likely, you want something that will provide your child with an enjoyable activity, but what if I told you that they could actually learn things like concentration, good manners and self discipline, without even realizing it?   It’s true, but what is even better is that these are just a few of the many benefits that golf provides kids.

In order for kids to get the most out of an after school program, the first thing it should offer is FUN. Aussie Kids after school golf program offers plenty of fun and excitement, but it also helps to boost confidence and provides them with a set of principles that will help them in all areas of their lives.

Golf is a game where honesty is the only way to play and improve. It’s the one sport that the rules of the game can actually make you a better person. There is etiquette within the game of golf that includes being patient with others, having self control, and having respect for yourself as well as others. As kids are introduced and learn the game of golf, they will also be introduced to the rules of golf.

Golf also provides kids with:

Physical Activity – Golf provides kids with a way to get outside and get some exercise. Swinging the club and walking after the ball has them working their core, burning calories and building muscle.

Social Activity – Many kids find it difficult to meet other kids that are interested in something besides video games. Attending Aussie Kids After school program is a great way for kids to meet other kids that enjoy the same things. They can develop some great friendships that they can take into the rest of their lives.

Mental Focus – Playing golf takes time and focus. As an outdoor activity, things like rain and wind can make playing a game of golf a challenging activity to say the least. Those who play the game learn how to get and stay focused despite these sometimes unforeseen obstacles. Although it can seem impossible when you start, even young kids learn how to block out distractions and pay attention to their golf game.

Decision Making – Playing the game of golf requires many skills and making decisions is an important one. Through the game you learn that if something isn’t working, you need to make the decision to change it in order to improve your game. And what golfer doesn’t want to improve their game?

Having Fun – When choosing an after school program for kids, it’s all about having fun. Over the last few years, golf has become the chosen sport for many young new players and it’s popularity is growing. Golfers like Rory Mcllroy and Keegan Bradley are quickly becoming superstars for young golfers and many kids have become interested in the game because of them.

Learning how to play golf has so many benefits and kids can start at any age. If they can hold a club, they are ready to learn. At Aussie Kids, your child will learn the skills needed to play the game while having fun with new friends. As a goal oriented after school program for kids, our coaches can bring out the best in your child while focusing on fun, learning, confidence and performance.

Aussie Kids Mom’s Golf Clinic

Aussie Kids Mom’s Golf ClinicGolf is a popular sport. It requires concentration and allows players to practice among nature’s beauty. The golf course is an excellent place to socialize as well. After a round, players often gather for a drink and good conversation. Unfortunately, only 19 percent of golfers are women. Why is there such a low amount of women actively involved with this sport? According to studies, enormous amounts of women would like to play, but they do not understand all of the rules and do not feel wanted.

Although golf is a co-ed sport, men and women participate for different reasons. Men often play to win. Most times, women are less competitive. Females see this sport as an outlet that offers physical and emotional wellness. Women enjoy spending time with their friends, especially when they can play a fun and challenging game at the same time. Proof of this can be found at a Minnesota course. Here, Fal Sentyrz, a centenarian, has been enjoying the game of golf for over 60 years. She began playing so that she could spend more time with her husband. She was an outdoor enthusiast as well. There are many reasons why women should consider golf training.

Increased Family Time

Besides playing with friends, golf is a wonderful family sport. People of all ages can play. In today’s world, parents and children are pulled in many different directions, which makes it difficult to spend time with each other. However, when the weather cooperates, the entire clan can gather on the greens and complete a round. Since courses are open from dawn to dusk, it is possible to schedule a convenient time to play. After a few hours on the links, the family can bond even further by enjoying a meal at the clubhouse.

Teaches Life Lessons

Few activities in life teach important lessons, including honesty. With golf, children learn proper etiquette and the honor code. It is essential to respect the space of others and to be quiet so that other players can concentrate. As individual scores are recorded, a person learns to tell the truth as well.

Great Exercise

Many people hate the monotony of going to a gym, using the same equipment, and sweating for little reason. While playing golf, individuals get to spend time along beautifully manicured greens, bask in the sunshine, and complete a nice walk. Even though carts are available, it is sometimes more enjoyable to go from hole to hole without the aid of a vehicle. Since each hole is approximately 2.5 miles apart, a high number of calories are burned, and players complete a solid cardio workout.

Mom’s Clinic

Since playing golf brings many benefits, it is helpful for women to become active and to receive training so that they can comprehend the basics of the game. Our Mom’s clinic offer group lessons in a relaxed atmosphere. When there is no pressure, women learn the fundamentals and increase their skills in a comfortable manner. After completing the program, women gain confidence and find that it much easier to “get in the swing” of things and play a round with friends and family.

If you are anxious to spend some quality time with your loved ones on the golf course or simply want to become familiar with the rules, take our golf lessons and reap the rewards.

Aussie Kids Golf Training Program

Aussie Kids Golf Training Program

Aussie Kids Golf Training ProgramGolf legends like Tiger Woods weren’t born with golden clubs in their hands. Someone had to give them a club and teach them how to play. Tiger started taking golf lessons when he was very young after his parents noticed that their child loved the game. By practicing and perfecting his skills for decades, Tiger turned his hobby into a career, and he became one of the highest paid professional competitors in history.
There would be no professional golfers if there were no supportive parents and dedicated instructors to help young players hone their talents. The same is true of all sports: Most professional athletes having been playing their respective game for most of their lives. According to the National Golf Foundation, children who start playing golf at a young age tend to keep playing as adults. Young children can often learn new skills quicker than adults because their brains are still developing, which makes them a sponge for new information.
At Aussie Kids Golf Academy, we teach kids as young as three the basics of the game. Our youth golf training program uses incentive-based methodology to bring out the best in students. Children need golf training that is carefully balanced in terms of difficulty and challenge to keep them engaged. A lot of technical instruction will likely bore young kids, but too little practical training can leave students without the skills necessary to succeed, which leads to frustration. Our coaches have many years of experience working with youth, and they are experts at creating a fun learning environment for all young players. Parents are often surprised by the vast improvements in performance and confidence that they see as their children train with our professional instructors.
Just like other sports, playing golf can help kids meet new people and develop relationships. It can also teach them the value of friendly competition and how to healthily cope with both success and disappointment. Golf can be a great family bonding activity; playing a game together outside is a much better alternative to watching television or sitting in front of a computer screen. Since golf requires a lot of focus, spending time on the green gives children and their parents a chance to talk and share quality time without distractions. In a world that is increasingly being taken over by smartphones and other devices, golf provides a perfect opportunity to take a break from technology and truly connect with others.
Aussie Kids Golf Academy operates in two locations that each offer multiple programs including group lesson, private lessons and golf camps. Whether your child comes to us with no golf experience, or they have already been playing and want to up their game, we can help them meet their golfing goals. Visit us today so that we can help you decide which program is the best fit for your future golf champion.

How Parents Can Help Energetic Kids Get Focused

How Parents Can Help Energetic Kids Focused Aussie Kids
Many kids these days can’t seem to sit still and their parents wonder if there is anything they can do. For some kids, the distractions give them a different way to look at their environment and when there are memory and concentration problems, a lot of kids can find they have difficulty in school which can have them feeling pretty bad.

The big question is, how can parents find activities that engage and inspire their energetic kids so they can succeed? Here are some tips on helping them find focus.

*Be Flexible – In order for kids to find their thing, they may need to try a few different activities and see which one they enjoy the most. Giving them the opportunity to do that without becoming frustrated is essential.

*Limited Distractions – Some kids find it distracting when there is too much noise and activity around them. Sports like hockey and football may seem like a good fit but the noise can distract them from getting focused. Although many parents disregard golf because it requires focus and concentration, they may be surprised when their kid thrives in the environment on the course.

*Set Goals – Working on smaller goals can help kids to avoid becoming overwhelmed. When active kids have too much going on, they tend to be less focused and don’t do well at any of them. Choose one thing at a time to work on can offer less distraction.

*Building Confidence – It’s important for kids to find some success so they can build confidence and learn to trust themselves, but they have to find success on their own. Doing it for them isn’t helpful. Allowing them to keep at it, even when they fail will give them much more self worth when they succeed.

*Showing Support – Everyone needs someone they can count on, even when things aren’t going well. Listening to them and allowing them to work hard will let them know you’re there for them.

Could Golf Be Their Thing?

Many parents of active kids automatically think of sports like gymnastics or baseball when considering an after school activity, but golf may be a better fit. With opportunities for group or private lessons as well as the focus that the game requires, many overactive kids find that the environment to be just what they need to calm down. The golf course has very limited distractions and with quiet being a must to play, it can be the perfect fit for kids who have trouble staying still.
